Rate my weeds

These are free (almost) n scale weeds (grass and sage brush) that I
created  by using natural products. This scean was planted in about 20 mins.

I'd like your honest opinion on how  they look. :) :)

EDIT:More weeds added: :P

Great job. I think the only reason you have yet to get an "outstanding" is that theyre all exactly the same color...I think a little bit of color variance from clump to clump and possibly along the length of the weeds is all you need to make them look incredibly realistic.

The grassy looking weeds are from the "bloomy things" that come from a sycamore tree. All I need to do is break open the bloom and pull these out and plant them. I wet the ground with a glue water mix, put down real dirt and stick the grass on. They are not glued down real well, but they just kinda stand on their own somehow.

The green "sagebrush" is blooms from a thistle plant. they are kind of soft and fuzzy.
I coated the tops with WS fine foam, and later, patted on some yellow paint to look like blooms.

I agree, the look is way to uniform . Nature is more random. I trying to find a way to diversify.

You ar off to a good start.  I would suggest adding some medium length growth in between the higher bits of weeds you have already.

Ok, the woodland scenics ones don't look too bad, but are too spaced out.

Add more, take a look at a real field, you'll see it's full of them. Doing that as a model is a real pain in the rear, so you probably don't have to get them as dense as in real life, but as is it's too sparse.

Trust me, what you're doing is not easy though, and you're definitely on the right path!

Very nice indeed, Coalporter!!

I would agree w/Ed.  Add more for more realism, even though it might be a PITA. :o

Keep up the great work.

They would look great if they were in a different context.  They look like the tall grass around a body of water, not the long weedy grass that grows in a field.  If you're after a field look, I would plant way more closer and evenly spaced (not in clumps).

The colors are good - very natural.
