Just unpacked the new Walthers Turntable..........WOW! :o
At first glance on a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 9.5. I will reserve any final judgment until it is operational. Very cool set-up. Scale hand rails and bridge/arch detail are eye poppers. Especially from Walthers! The "Indexing" is set from a 0 degree and each 10 degree increment (Matches their recently released Roundhouse). Hold down the clockwise/counterclockwise button until you get to the desired track and let go just before it reaches first rail. The 0/180 degree slots are "NO TRACK" zones and are used as a calibration set point.

A few observations:
1) I think I can hide the code 80 rail with some subterfuge. Perhaps an overlay of REAL wood after being appropriately stained? I could then raise the outer ring of the pit with styrene to make Code 55 or even Code 40.
2) Add glazing that was left off the operators shanty.
3) Go over the laughable "Factory Weathering" to make it look somewhat respectable.

So far, it appears the wait may have been worthwhile.

I will try for some high res pics or http://www.nscalesupply.com/Wal/WAL-933-2613.htm

working on another Minitrix/Spectrum H10 kitbash project. It's in the (very rough) beginning phases.

Never force it; get a bigger hammer.

I kitbashed a Robert Ray laser cut station into something that looks a little bit more Erie-ish.

Also built up one of his caboose underframes for a planned Dunmore caboose ;)

Then I have Randy's Climax calling my name, this 44Ton thingy. It will soon be time to play spin the bottle to see what get worked on next.  :P

Building two 1:25 Scale RC Subaru Outback wagons from Tomy Tech. The instructions are all in Japanese, luckely well illustrated. Hey! Wait a minute "Thats not Model Railrioading". Ok ! so first of all my bench is covered with extra rolling stock a,locos and other items, like Athern Trucks, that it is temporarly out of service . I just finished matching the flawed ("Missing") paint on two MP Canadian Pccific FP-7 locos (don't know why I got them) man what a B***H usuing my existing paints to match the Maroon. I had to use Wisconsin Central Maroon and some brown from two different paint supplyers, and the MT coupler conversions were not easy either usuing 1133 couplers . So building the 2 Subaru Kits with Japamese instructions will be apiece of cake won't it. "Who knows who cares!"                                                                                                                                                    Nate Goodman (Nato). Well, I've made zero progress on my stated objective.  The windows and screens project has snowballed into painting another part of the house outside.

I do have a bunch of rolling stock in various states of progress... perhaps I should begin there...

I'm re-lettering my Laurel Valley fleet, changing the reporting marks from LV (seems that one was taken...) to LRV.  I'm also renumbering some of my LRV boxcars into a number series that makes a little more sense.

I had bought another 5 LL WM cabooses, all Chessie, but don't worry, I fixed that.  I even did one in the round herald with the idea that one of these days I'll pick up one of them B-man consolidations...
Anyhoo, they're all painted and lettered, but I'm in the process of installing body mount couplers and filing the bolsters down for a better ride.  Of the 5, 2 are back in service.

I also have a MOW car project underway... More on that later.

On the layout itself, I've picked up the rest of the track I need to finish the sub-grade staging yard at the Connellsville end.  I'm also stocking up on track and bridge parts for the next big push.  I've also paid my deposit on my Walthers turntable, and frankly, I'm annoyed in the extreme that they put c-80 on it.  Don't worry, kids... Uncle Lee will find a way to fix that, too.  I hope that 10 deg. limitation doesn't screw up the footprint of my roundhouse area.

Two GP40-2s in various states of dissasembly. Yes, they're decorated models, but with the wrong anti-climbers, and that just bugs me!
One is numbered already (because Louis rocks!) and one is unnumbered...

Ed the unnumbered you sent me in exchange is now 3302 , she is working hard !  8)
Thanks ,
Louis

Awesome! I just started working on the numbered one I had gotten!

It now sports a BLMA anti-climber, along with it's still unnumbered brother.

I'm hoping to really get those GP40-2s finished up soon.

 :D Oh Nose!

I cleaned off my bench tonight

And someone came along and replaced it with some racing Ninjas!!!

 ;D ;D ;D

Kawasaki Ninjas that is!  hehe! Now you can see where the SportbikesNW comes from in the URL for my files. ;)
It's hard to believe I made that big of a mess on the bench in just 2 days. Luckily it cleaned up really easy and made room for my other true love in life; racing sportbikes! Front to back is a 2003 ZX-6RR, a 2005 ZX-10R, and hidden in back is a 2000 SV-650. Do you think anyone will be making N scale models of those anytime soon?  ;D

I don't like to leave my prized race bikes outdoors to much and since I'm heading to Birmingham, AL this next week for the 2nd round of the AMA Superbike series http://www.amasuperbike.com/index.php?UID=AqlGMQDqGxkUmvfDGnKnoqHNsHbB10
I figured I'd better move them back inside where it's safe.  ;)  Did I mention I like things with LOTS of Horsepower!? Doesn't matter if it's hauling tonnage or hauling @ss, I'll stop and watch it! If you're in Birmingham April 20 & 22 come out and see the show!
