Good work Guys! Lenny53, I'm totally digging the CN/BNSF photo! Here's some things from around here earlier this week:

Rollby of this train here: http://www.railimages.com/gallery/Ron-Harris-album?page=54

Partial Rollby of this train (all gondolas and it was cruising by FAST) here: http://www.railimages.com/gallery/Ron-Harris-album?page=56

Truthfully, I don't know, but one of two things. First, BEDT may have started at 10. The AN started numbering its Diesels at 701. Second, since they were all built within a 13 year period (1910-23), suspect that if there were any earlier ones, they were not very successful as I believe the railroad got its start about 1900. So the previous ones, if any, were gone by 1923 at the latest.

Nothing much for me because I've been ill with the
flu this week so I thought I would dig up something
I shot this past July. Something with green in it because
right about now I'm getting tired of the winter!
Looking forward to Spring!!!

Jon

A west bound POSE heading into Exeter NH. Shot
was in front of the public works dept going over RT85.

Here's some older stuff, from my pre-Rebel days.

On June 26th, 2002, Shared Assets train WPCA-11, the "road-freight of South Jersey" rolls north through Thorofare, NJ on it's way back to Camden with it's regular power, SD40-2E's 3434 and 3426. Notice this was before NS started ripping out the distinctive CR red class lights:

I have forgotten the date of this photo. What I DO remember it was on a disgustingly-hot July day in Philadelphia on the summer of 2002. For about an entire month, a pair of FURX units were in captive service on the WPCA-01 transfer run that funnels traffic from Camden to the yards in Philadelphia. On this day, the train was moving a pair of other units and two Shared Assets shoving platforms when I shot it from the hilltop at CP-Belmont:

On it's way to its new home at the Southern Railroad of New Jersey, Morristown and Erie M424 is shuffled about at Abrams Yard on 1/3/2004:

Here's something that will REALLY make Iain slobber...

That's right, a real live Baldwin, owned by the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum.  The WM actually rostered some of these dogs, but these examples are ex-US Army issue.

I got to take a fruitless trip to Hagerstown/Frederick on Friday.  The job interview I had planned turned out to be a wash.  C'est la vie.  I did get to linger around with some old friends...

Caboose 1859 has been fully restored since my last visit to the HRM last September.  She looks resplendent in Fast Freight heraldry, and a warm sunny day.

Meanwhile, over at City Park, WM 202 continues to hunker down in her shed.  There have been several attempts to get her back under steam, but until then, she waits patiently in Hagerstown.

And as I drove around the neighborhoods looking for real estate signs, I came across this relic of a bygone era.  A fine addition to my collection of "No Trespassing" sign photos.

...and is it just me, or does Iain's girlfiriend look just like siderod's ex?  Nah, couldn't be.  Say Iain, she didn't recently move to NC from Nova Scotia did she? ;D

sean,

that cp alco never went to the SRNJ, they never did buy any C424's. they shopped for a few, but never got the good price they were after. they did have the ex-mass. central C-424 #4264 on the property lettered as the PVRX 4264, a few years back, but the owner sold it to the M&E.
