Plano, Tx:

Mapleleafcentral, what is the road name on the third unit behind the KCS pair--the one in sort-of simplified Nickel Plate colors?

By the way, it's always nice to see pictures of KCS units in the old white and red scheme.

That's Gateway Western. They operate the former GM&O lines in northern Missouri. IIRC, they are a KCS subsidiary or operating partner.

Go to this link, and you'll see there's still a lot of scrap metal spanning the Potomac...  And these aren't nearly as big as the Hudson bridge you show.

Here's a better side view of the Gateway Western loco for you Jackdaw:

These units show up down here from time to time and I always get as many pictures of them as I can. They're here a couple weeks and then they go somewhere else. I really like them and even have some decals here, but haven't got around to doing one up yet.

I found something rare:  a SHINY ATSF covered hopper.  No BNSF crap anywhere.  I wish I had had the camera.

i saw the red and blue Helms leasers on the belt line at 8:30am on my way home from the bar last weekend.  they were in perfect sun, but i was working with one eye and no camera ;)

here's a CSX shot from this past summer on the West End - Q316 crossing the Cheat River at Rowlesburg

and a Maryland Midland shot at Little Pipe Creek, talk about being at the right place at the right time... pure luck i caught this.

Can I have the full version of that MMID shot?

It's not the equipment I'm after, but that ground cover around the bridge...
