Since Sean (GonzoCRFan) hasn't started it yet, I'll have a go at it. I have been scanning some of my old black and white photos and will share a few each week. Let's go South of the Border to old México, this week.

First, the last open single truck trolley operating in revenue service, Veracruz #7, 2/62:

Bad place for a derailment.  This is a Rio Grande Southern train on Butterfly Trestle 44A (Ophir Loop, Colorado.)

Some might remember me "bitching" that a item I bid on at E-bay was not showing up in "My E-bay". It was a Erie camelback postcard. Well it did finally show up in "my E-bay" and in fact was in "My Mailbox" two days later.
Here it is:

Erie H-10 1472 @ Youngstown OH in 1918

Chris, the bridge is still standing and is used as part of a foot trail, I believe. I can't imagine that the cost of demolition would make it worth selling it for scrap. Who owns it, anyway?

The bridge was still there september 16 th , 2005 . I am shure it is still there , the waitress in the restaurant told me they were suppose to do a bike trail on it . This was not done at time of picture . To do a path they need to put fence on both side also .

Here is a map , the road bridge is the Mid Hudson Bridge , I tried to get a satellite picture but the resolution in that area is not great :

Thanks for the info.

I looked it up on Google earth, but it's low res in that area. Just seems like if it wasn't in use someone would make it gone quick. It's a pretty big bridge, not that I want to see it torn down though. Would be cool to ride a bike across it  8)

Chris, big bridges like the one at Poughkeepsie cost far more to take down than they would garner in the sale of scrap steel. The bridge was owned by the Penn Central as successor to the New Haven and was on a line not taken over by Conrail. Suspect it has now come under ownership of the state or a local jursidiction for non-payment of property taxes, or possibly given to the state in lieu of taxes. There is a large (ex-NYC) bridge across the Ohio at Louisville of which only the overwater portion remains. It is simply is too expensive to remove it.

Mapleleafcentral, what is the road name on the third unit behind the KCS pair--the one in sort-of simplified Nickel Plate colors?

By the way, it's always nice to see pictures of KCS units in the old white and red scheme.
