After some 5 week life challenges, I finally had the chance to do some work on the layout and details. First, I painted, weathered, and added cables to the open and closed grapple hooks. I need to make a ball of scrap to put inside the closed grapple.
I also lengthened the mooring tires and bollards to allow for another barge location closer to the newly added siding for more loading and unloading capability on the waterfront. I’m thinking of designing and printing a smaller vessel for the new mooring.
I also printed some more PRR style light post concrete piers for the WS streetlights that will be installed later on the extension across from the icing platform, between the branch line and the siding.

Lincoln Yard is filling up as track crews have the east end of the yard tied up with work going on. More posted in my CSX Hanover Subdivision build thread.

I am normally not one to procrastinate but I have been putting off some turnout repairs for a while now, and with an op session for RMMBC coming up I really need to get to work on them. I identified seven turnouts which have not been working well since the move a few years ago. Most of the issues appear to be servo-related (jammed or sticking). This week I was able to get two of them in Chetwynd Yard removed, repaired and back into service, and they are now working well:
Another accomplishment this week was completing installation of the logging exhibits on my museum train flatcars, which involved some very delicate cabling work:

Finishing up roughing in the foam board scenery going ....
.....to the track elevator this past week. More about that and the following with more images on Railwire
( HERE )
along with.....
.... a few more on how I use the foam board with one shown above.
I also took a break from....
.... climbing on/off a platform doing the scenery to build most of the curved turnout above that will be used in the area that I'm doing the scenery in.
Then tried my hand at painting some clouds .....
.... which I'll come back to and change them up a little.
Again, More about the above on Railwire
( HERE )

Pulled out one of my n scale kits f30as and started doing some cleanup and making holes. however, i've realized that i do not have appropriate trucks, so this might be the extent of work done for a while.

This weekend was the 41st annual Doubleheaders Layout Tour in the Kitchener-Waterloo area here in Southern Ontario. One of the stops on the tour is the Hespeler Arena where various modular groups set up. My entire modeling group of 9 guys including my grandson Nathan and my buddy Justin went on the tour. On our stop at the Arena we ran into Railwire Members CRAIGOLIO1 (Craig) and CNR5529 (Fredrick) and their FreeMo N Scale layout.

Photos 2 - 4: Some of their modules. Those bridges will be something when Craig completes them.

Had a great day at the Double Headers Layout Tour in Cambridge, Ontario today. 5 of us brought modules to display and several friends stopped by to visit. It was a great day of running trains and goofing off that didn’t disappoint.
Some of the other great guys will hopefully post some pics as well.
Craig
Edit: or will post while I was typing this. Haha. Great to see you gents!

A few shots from around the layout. I have a couple of great podcasts streaming on my YOUTUBE channel, Larry Harper's Standard/Narrow gauge layout and Ben's KCS Baxter Springs/Lawton Branch.
I would love for you to check them out.

Getting ready to convert all the locomotives on my layout to ESU sound and pilot decoders.
Got started with buying 6 Atlas gold GP7's and put my WP shells on the sound chassis.
16 ABBA sets of road power will get sound in the B units and pilots in the A's
Both California Zephyr 's will get sound it both B's and pilot in the A's. These will be the last to convert as they have Soundtraxx Tsunami2's in them now.
Locomotives used on locals (sets of 2) and switcher (sets of 2) will get sound in one and pilot in the other.
Hope to have them all installed for the N scale convention layout tour. Here's one of the GP7 chassis where I looking where I can add some capacitors
Here's enough to get me started.

Here's enough to get me started.
Nice!
Looking at that bag of what looks like LokPilot nano Standard decoders, did you score them at the Toy Train Heaven DCC sale? Did you buy all they had left?
