Quiet Air Compressor

Looking for recommendations for a quiet/ silent air compressor for my air brushing. My current Hausfeld/Campbell one is loud enough to wake the dead. Is there any “silent” compressor out there that is relatively cheap?

I'll vouch. That compressor is available under a bunch of different labels.

Same here, with air tank. If you live in an humid area it pays to regularly empty the water out of the air tank (little valve on the bottom, pull the ring)

Thanks- even though I’m pretty dry here in CO, I have a water filter on my old rig.

On another site, this model was pointed out:

https://www.amazon.com/Master-Airbrush-Runner-Compressor-TC-326T/dp/B07ZQM6R83?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1

47dB which is quite good, better than the California Air Tools models I have. That said... I'm not going to buy yet another compressor. Been using this compressor of late, with an adapter to use a decent airbrush: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0D9NJZHJS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Wondering why you guys use such a small tanks? My compressor is loud, but has a 13 gallon tank so it barely runs.

It helps even out the pressure. Tankless models do have a bit of a pressure differential when they start and some pulsing. The tank mostly helps avoid and dips and pulsing. I’ve never used a tankless airbrush compressor so I can’t give my opinion.

Saw that Master one, too, but going to try the Timbertech and see how it goes. My original compressor was a Badger with no tank, but gifted that one to my son when he picked up airbrushing. If it doesn’t work out, I may just go the CO2 tank route!

Hi Mark, yes, a water trap in the air line is one, but there is always water build up in the tank which will build rust and if that water doesn't get removed the tank can actually rust thru. Don't ask me why I know but the rust stain on the carpet was there to stay (till I replaced the carpet)  ;)

It seems like this topic just came up really recently.
This is what I have from Harbor Freight.
Very happy with it.  Runs all my air tools, airs tires and great for airbrushing.  It’s light, quiet and portable.
