I feel a little dirty.

Don't despair, it'll pass; and no doubt more quickly than it should.

Thank you!  Just for anyone's info, I'm also working on the BP-20s for all of you SPFs!

Assuming that it will fit on a readily available chassis, I am interested in an A and a B.  I will second the request for holes to the Trainfone antenna brackets.

I am not an SPF but an A-B pair would fit my pike, era and use for them.

Thank you.

UPDATE: I made a thing!  I was switching out some cars in the Aberdeen yard when I noticed that the sofa that I cobbled together from scrap styrene was lonely.  So, I whittled up a derelict washing machine from some styrene parts and a piece of wire.  The sub-parts include the cabinet, the drum with agitator, and the lid.  The drum was hacked out from a scrap of a RIX highway bridge pier that I squared up to fit within the washer cabinet. 🤣

The parts roughly assembled:

And the washing machine chucked to the side of the road.  Just needs paint and weathering:

I love that road with the tar cracks!!

You know, those old top loaders were super reliable and would run forever. Bet a couple Youtube videos later you could have it running like new again!

Brokomoto, as promised, attached see some interior shots of the Father Nature Baldwin Passenger Shark resin shells, and how the Con-Cor DL-109 mechanism was modified to allow the shell to fit on it.

Thank you.  Those are Father Nature shells, alright.  That guy cleaned them up nicely.  They do require extensive cleaning up.  My drover cabooses needed it and the BP-20 shells that I have all need to be cleaned up.

Basically, it looks like the builder of these models, ground down the sides of the Con-Cor mechanism, in order to allow the Father Nature shells to sit properly.

It does appear that there was a bare minimum of sanding on the A and less than that on the B.  It does look like he did more to the C-C DL-109 power chassis but it does not look like that much.  I wonder if he measures it or did trial and error.  I suppose that you could remove everything, re-assemble the metal frame pieces only then do trial and error.

tehachapifan:  We have a Kenmore (Sears) top-load washer that's over 30 years old, and still runs fine.  I don't know just how long we've had it, but we've been in this house 29 years, and it was moved from the old house.  The matching dryer is just as old.  We definitely don't want one of the new "smart" ones - we never change the settings on these, except how long the dryer runs.

But that Kenmore lasted 30+ years.  Same thing happened to me last month.  25 year old (basic) GE washer died.  I didn't bother to even look for parts.  Went out to buy another basic one.  No digital display, no flat panel buttons, no Bluetooth, etc.

Thing is these new ones will never last that long based on multiple friends' and neighbors' stories, even the sales guy.  This is across all brands.

I rather have a washer dryer that lasts 25-30 years and outlast the parts supply chain than buy a new one every 5-10 years or have the repairman be a frequent visitor.

How do you know the common break points and thus spare parts needed, for a particular model?

Theres usually something identifiable on a part you can chuck into a google search. You then pair down what makes sense in a washing machine.

And there’s lots of parts “binning” so kenmore fits GE fits xyz brand.

Kinda like how GM shoehorned a 3800 series 2 into almost every mid and large passenger car they made in the 90’s till mid to late 2000’s
