LIMITED TrainCat Re-Releases At The Etcher

All,

I have had a very difficult time finding a new etcher after mine shut down the small run companies. To make matters worse, last year I found out that the same etcher that Gold Metal Models was using, COULD use my photo tools. Alas, as you know they have closed their doors as well. Driven by my needs on the B&O Delaware Branch, certain items are making a comeback. Two items (for now) have already sent to the etcher. They are: 40ft Tankcar Loading Platforms (Crossover Bridge and Stairs too) and Fire Escapes. A new item to add a dome platform to a MTL 65XXX series Tankcar was discussed a while back is being sent as well next week. I could not find it in search, maybe some else can so we can continue the discussion.

The hurdles are that the size of my photo tools are not being run by anyone any longer. I have been saddled with smaller sheets of 11.5" sheets instead of 18". The norm width is now 23.5" wide instead of 24", but I can get 35" wide for projects like the Canyon Diablo if completely retooled with enough reservations. Don't expect super low pricing as before, the base cost of brass and yield on the smaller sheets will be reflected in the costs.

the $64K question, how will this play out? To help alleviate the increased costs, I will sell via PPF&F and each item will be in quantities > 1 (think 3-Pack, 6-Pack, 12-Pack). When I sell out of the ordered qty, I will only reorder what I have new reservations for. So speak out now if you want these so I can adjust order qty. When ??? Since these are coming from the EU, expect 8-10 weeks. The holidays may increase that time as well.

Are there any other items that should be retooled or new designs?? You tell me. I just need to figure how to make them fit efficiently and meet the 5 sheet min.
Regards

This is great news. (That you are easing back into the etching business).

I would like to submit a request: SP S-40-8 stock cars.

Thanks and best regards,
Wolf

I bet those artwork sizes directly reflect the width of a newspaper.

 boB,
Have you considered getting a Fiber laser and do your own etchings????

I might build one after the first of the year.

Only if I have the reservations. However, I still have a TON of PRR N6b in Centered & Offset Cupolas left.

If you want rid of some those N6, I would take some off your hands.
