Oh, dear. More "Automated Railway" billboard cars, my weakness. Yeah, they're re-runs many times over, but as long as they keep issuing different numbers...

...sigh...

I am tempted by the Strates circus cars.  At $30/car, that's a heck of a good deal in this modern age, given the complexity of the paint job. Absolutely no use for them, but they are works of art.

The M3 Lee tanks stood out as I have a picture of the real thing sitting on a Bangor and Aroostook flat car.  The flat was made of wood and it is bowing heavily.

If it survived long enough to have an M3 on it, it would at a minimum have a steel center sill. The all-wood car ban was 1935, so six years before the tanks started production.

Now that I'm back into N scale transition era, I'm following these again. Nothing jumps out at me this month, but there's always next month!

Unfortunately, the MTL PRR N6b isn't very close to a real N6b.  Even if it was I'd have to strip it and repaint it for 1948.  Which I would.  If it were close to an N6b. But it's not.  (Where is the SPF emoji?)

N6b

The Strates Show carnival train is tempting.  I'm not a real big passenger train person but The James E Strates Show did the Erie County (WNY) Fair every summer for as long as I can remember and I remember seeing news articles every time it came into the area.  I'm getting older and nostalgia hits hard sometimes.

And you are correct. After closer inspection, it does have a steel under frame.

These behind those coming Scale Trains GP30s - w a couple B units in the consist - will be epic.

I’m happy to see they’re doing a NKP caboose. I’ll pick one up for sure, since it sort of looks like the ex-W&LE 800-series wooden ones. What I really hope to see is a heavyweight set done up in NKP. It would make for a nice baseball special that used to come into Cleveland behind a hudson during the 50s.

Definitely pricey but you’re right. Are they doing the entire train or just a few? I’m still pretty sour grapes they did a few nice releases with Ringling Brothers and started on the royal American train but then just kind of gave up. I haven’t bought another micro trains release since
