Bearing Wyoming signage, can anyone provide the kit manufacturer and/or any prototype information on the unusual N-Scale station model that is pictured below?

A quick search with Google Images didn't find anything.  The most common result was various RGS Rico station kits, which this certainly isn't.

The closest I found was a 1912 postcard of the Lancaster, NH station, but that wasn't that good a match.

Are you sure it was a kit?  Could it have been scratchbuilt, or heavily kitbashed?

After acquiring the assembled model, like you, I spent quite a bit of time on Google trying to figure out what kit it might be and what the prototype was.

While the station might have been scratchbuilt or kitbashed, the cut outs in the scribed wooden siding, the roofing strips, and the wooden windows and doors appear to have been laser cut.

Sounds like a kit, as very few modelers have lasers, although I believe there are a few here who do.

I have no idea.  It sounds like something that would have been advertised, but I don't remember ever seeing it.

The station's distinctive bee hive shaped cupola should have made the identification process a breeze, but alas, insofar as Google searches are concerned, that has not proven to be the case.

Ok, anyway, fun search puzzle!  I assumed that someone that took enough time to build/scratchbuild was probably a prototype modeler... so worked off the Northern Pacific depot paint scheme to narrow in on it.  Looks like at least two people are modeling the town in Minneasota!

NP fans can probably find more research avenues if needed.  Neat station.

Mike,

Thanks; I'm indebted to for your absolutely outstanding research work.

Despite many hours on Google, I was't able to come up with any useful results.

The unknown individual who scratch-built the N-Scale replica was a very talented model builder.

Probably need to consider constructing a small diorama that incorporates the station and the CREX plant.

@Point353,

Very useful reference photos for creating a diorama of the station's local, thanks for uploading the historical images and providing the recreation link.

I have been through Wyoming (MN) hundreds of times. Even after spending a decade modeling the Skally Line, I had no idea this depot looked like this!
