This time we are coming with a car that has remained unknown outside the Eastern European countries. When the car industry in East Germany recovered after the Second World War, it started producing pre-war designs again. The car we are looking at now, the IFA F8 Kombi, is a new edition of the DKW F8, now equipped with a more practical body. IFA (Industrieverband Fahrzeugbau) was the umbrella organization of the East German motorcycle and car industry.
Because there was always a shortage of steel that could be pressed well in the GDR, the IFA made extensive use of wood and artificial leather. That also explains why the IFA F8 Kombi was such a colorful car.
