^Agreed.  I don't think Atlas or Rapido are (currently) proposing foob schemes for their models.  The Atlas model is based on the older cryo reefer that used a liquid refrigerant (CO2?) while the Rapido model is a straight mechanical reefer.  The fact that both prototype cars sported the Cryo-Trans logo is Cryo_Trans' fault.  :)

Evidently the  old cryo reefers were not very effective.  A number of them were converted to mechanical reefers after about 10 years of service, and it looks like a bunch of them are still in service.  Here's a nice (nay, amazing) example of a converted model in HO:

Exactly - while they represent modern cars that CryoTrans (now Lineage) as a company owns, they're not "cryo" cars but standard refrigerators. I don't think anyone's done (IRL) a real "cryo" car anymore in years.
