Does anybody have one of these? I'm wondering what has changed since 2019 and if I need to pick one up - http://www.spookshow.net/loco/atlassd5060.html

Thanks,

This run some have functioning ditch lights, so a new chassis like the B32 for that and sound ready with speaker.
Attempting to model a modern Southern Pacific based in 2015/2016...

Also, I have a passenger train addiction...

That's not new. 2019 models had speakers and ditch lights.

Did the 2019 SD50s have ditchlights?  I believe some of the present release do.

The SD50's didn't, but the SD60M's did, so it's not something new for that shared chassis. Looking for someone who actually has one to chime in here.

I guess I'll just get it over with and buy one.

My shop hasn’t said my pair of DRGW SD50s have come in yet. So unfortunately I can’t help you out Mark. Apologies.

If you haven't ordered yet, I work this weekend.  I can check if any came in for shelf stock and get you some pictures

Sorry I spent my money on the SD45s.  8)

Looking at your review, and seeing what you said about how they did and didn't update the light pipes for different shells last time, I'd be curious to know if the ditchlight brightness on the SD50s is good.  N scale locomotive lighting is still very hit or miss these days.

For the record, the only chassis changes (as compared to the 2019 version) are a new shroud for the forward LED and a new PC board for the lighting (said board comes with an E24 DCC interface). Shell-wise, the light tubing for the headlight, reverse light, number boards and ditch lights is all different, so shell swapping will likely be a challenge.

I'm surprised that the E24 interface isn't mentioned anyplace (be it the Atlas website, the box, or the included documentation). It seems like an important bit of info, especially with 3 different versions now floating around out there.

Atlas, at least via its web page, seems to like to keep the details of its engines shrouded in secrecy...
