Thought there might be a few things of interest in here. EM-1 in HO scale and GE 44 tonner in N scale!

Zebra striped 44 tonner is tempting.  I don't really need one... and I should probably spend the money on something else... but.... tempting.

The crane and boom car?

There's a blast from the past.

I hope those wooden passenger cars are improved. They could be fun.

The crane and boom car?

I remember the earlier  ones. They say they fixed it.

Is it me, or is the (computer generated?) narration really fast?

Another year without a C&O H-8  I always thought Bachmann might be the one to do it in plastic since they had the H-4 and H-5 2-6-6-2's and the other C&O steam.

Nice to see the 44t back.  Though I have all I need (but maybe not all I want  ) .

If UP is such a hot seller, then Bachmann keeps missing the boat on this one:

I have a 44T from the first release in my painting queue. Anybody have a roundtuit I can borrow?

It would have been nice if Bachmann made a new cab for the 44-tonner. The old one with those tiny windows looks terrible. I guess the only way to make the cab's windows more accurate would be to etch the cab walls from brass. Even 3-D printing (due to the wall thickness) wouldn't help much.

I assume the 44 tonner is the same old tooling with the fat hood - would be cool if they tried to fix that.

Hood should be less than a scale 56 1/2" wide.

Is anyone familiar enough with Bachmann to predict how soon is “Coming Soon” could be?  I will pick up a 44T in CBQ.

That doesn't bother me nearly as much as the "slits in a castle tower" windows. But in the grand scheme of things the hood width is partially to blame.  But the worst visual effect is how thick the corner pillars are.

Since Bachmann is now using small coreless motors, they could theoretically correct the hood width,  but that would mean basically creating a new shell and a new chassis, so it would be a brand new model (maybe the original trucks could be retained, but that's it).

They could have fixed the hood width with the stock motor. I milled down a frame to fit a correct hood (that I never made). The stock motor is inset into the frame.

All this means is instead of buying them for $29 at Trainworld you will get to pay $200 for them.
