IKEA Ivar Replacement

Has anyone found a suitable one for use with around the walls benchwork? Seems IKEA decided short IVAR needed to be taller. I can't find any examples of 30-40 inch high IVAR shelves on their website. All the products that pop up are 70 inches tall, or more.

I'm contemplating an around the walls design to start a new layout, and having shelves under the layout would seriously help keep the room in the multipurpose realm. I could use old fashioned shelf brackets I guess, but I had the walls painted Atmosphere. Using brackets to support the benchwork and a valence would require covering the walls to hide the brackets. Grrr.

Hell, I am ahead of myself here anyway. Still haven't finished unpacking, and what I have unpacked is mostly on the floor because I don't have any furniture yet thanks to an extremely slow claims agent. 31 month out of home and you think the insurance company would have settled by now on an amount for the damage to my contents from the smoke, water and mold.

Nice: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/ivar-shelf-unit-pine-00522330/

Also, it's 31".

That one doesn't have the verticals that allow attaching the benchwork to the shelf unit the old style Bernie Kempenski used did.

Ah.
Well... can't you just cut them down? The IVAR stuff looks like it's actual wood.

Right!  Cross cut / miter / jig saw?

I've cut mine down with a chop saw with no issues, and dressed it up with light sanding. No need to be perfect since the cut ends are under the layout anyway  8)

That may be the ticket. I did not know they sold the verticals and shelf pieces separately.

TRW solves a problem. Now, to get them to my house in an open bed pickup during a tropical storm, without getting wet. Hmmm.

Wait until the storm is over?

BTW, note that those vertical pieces come in different widths (or depths) for different depth shelves.
