It's going to be this one.  I detailed and painted this one way back in 2001 and it has managed to survive 7 moves, including 4 ocean crossings and three cross-country moves.   How, I have no idea.  I haven't had an N Scale layout since I left Germany in 2015, so just ignore the dust on it.  Didn't notice it until I processed the photo.... :facepalm:

There are two other kitbashed models that would be a very close 2nd and 3rd that I still have....I can fit all three in my pockets, right.... :D.  One is a Norfolk Southern SD60E (done long before Atlas released theirs) and I also have a CSX SD40-3 that I did back in 2012.  Sheesh, where has the time gone....??  :scared:

I'm sorry, Kato wheels? On a LL? I mean... I knew Atlas trucks fit in those and the 38s... but Kato wheels? Oh please tell me what to look for!

Kato wheels are much nicer than Atlas and LL wheelsets, and they seem to stay cleaner longer.  There is a thread on swapping Atlas wheelsets. I imagine same can be done with LL wheelsets.  https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=33107.0

Sweet thank you! I'll look into that thread. I kinda hate the Atlas wheels as it is, so if I can start swapping out wheelsets I will.

I'm sure I can get a dissenting opinion, but in ALL my tests the Kato wheels also have a better 'grip''; i.e. coefficient of friction -when drawbar pull / locomotive weight is measured.       5 gram pull / 22 grams weight = 22.7%     Altlas tends to run 12-15%, Kato 18-20% in my testing.    Go back to all brass wheels on a Trix with the chrome gone and get 22%.   Same locomotive will pull more, basically. 

Kato metallurgy - both the wheels and the rail, even the pickup material, is a rather secret sauce.  It really is better.

I model N, so I should be able to grab as many locos as I can fit in one hand… my keeper would probably my be my WC GP30 #700

Definitely my Kato boxcab painted to resemble a NH EP-2 in McGinnis.  The paint job is not perfect and was difficult, but I'm rather proud of it.

2014, the first new N scale loco after getting back into layout construction, this Atlas BNSF GP-9. Still a great runner today.

What I would garb....

Are these three, kitbashed four-axle GEVOs.
They are a kitbash that I did back in 2010.
Atlas B23-7 (chassis, sill, walkway, cab and shorthood)
Atlas Dash8-32HW (longhood)..



I can, because they are already boxed up..  Just Grab and GO....  8)

This is a tough one, but I may have to follow in Randgust's footsteps, and grab my Class B Climax.
