Okay, I tried to locate his page.  Is this it? https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100090248374351 There's nothing about NYC there.  Or many products at all, actually.

Contact him direct through facebook.  He had flyers for most of his stuff but ran out of most by the second day.  He will give you a cheaper price if you contact him direct rather than going through his Ebay store.

He will even print custom order things like harriman roofs for SP stuff with modern AC units added on for MOW cars!   :o

I wonder if there was a mix up of who is who.  I know that guy, I obtained some of his Santa Fe container mail cars recently, a 'needed' addition to my San Francisco Chief.  I don't recall him having any NYC stuff when I met him.

Nope, it's the right guy.  Have to message through facebook (I placed an order for a PT shell yesterday) and pay via paypal.  Or wait to see if he drops any on eBay if you want buyer protection.

Kato announcing the Surfliner with appropriate Charger. Picture from a Facebook post.

While this is a tad late, the Phase III cars in the picture are interesting considering you have an SSL present and then a Hi-Level coach car present, and makes me wonder if Kato is going to be releasing (rereleasing?) Phase III cars again for Amtrak stuff this year, since as far as I am aware Kato hasn't done a Phase III Hi-Level coach car.

I'm hoping for one, pretty sure they lasted until the early 90s

Nor a phase III Amfleet I car.

Good catch.  They have done Phase III Superliners and a Phase III step down coach, but if that's a phase III Budd Hi-Level without step down then that's new.  Also that wavy-stripes scheme isn't something they've done before AFAIK.  The Superliner lounge with the stripes straight through also seems to be a different scheme than they've done before.

I noticed two 3D printing booths that I wanted to give a shout out here. The first is “TRsTrains” who made a rendition of a New York Central PT tender body. It was in crisp relief and super finely detailed. He also had the cowlings used for the NYC Shays that were street switchers, and Harriman roof add-ons for passenger cars. He is pretty hard to find online, but if you search his name as above on Facebook, you can see his full product line.

The other is Piper Craftsman Kits who had a selection of 3D and laser printed products. I especially liked his detailed store interiors and scene detail parts. You might remember him from his Midland & Dorchester Youtube channel.

Here’s a link to his Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PiperCraftsmanKits?dd_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F

Why do PT Tenders always rely on donor UP Tenders..
.. IF your going to go to the trouble of making a 3d print PT Tender, why not make the underframe with truck assembly and front truck as well? then we just have to add wheels.

Well, I dunno but if you save us from this ongoing predicament, let me know.

Here it is, starting to carve a Kato FEF centipede tender chassis to fit the TRtrains shell. It’s pretty nice.

If we’re designing from new, I’m also interested in in taking the Bachmann boards and drawbar so I can just hook it up to today’s nicest Hudson.

It was at the Manufacturers breakfast. And then the sign was on the Kato table at Swap o rama I believe.

Hi @tehachapifan - it was amongst the NSE's photo summary on FB from the manufacturer's breakfast.

I'm not surprised you haven't seen anything on Kato's channels yet.

Can you provide a link to the NSE photo summary? Can't seem to find it. Thx!

That looks like an early PT-1 Tender.. Vs the typical PT 3 or 4 .. Maybe that was mentioned earlier and I didn't catch it.   Cool..

Yes.. a straight conversion kit using parts from the Bachmann Tender plus 1 wheel would be ideal...

Unless something official gets posted by the end of next week on the Surfliners, i’m going to say we’ve been trolled somehow. The (rather sketchy looking) flyer says 2024 and there’s only about 5 1/2 months left in 2024, yet no sign of anything at online shops or anywhere whatsoever. I'll ask again, did anyone here attend the manufacturers breakfast and personally witness this announcement?

Not sure how much more you need to see @tehachapifan ... it's as unofficial as it gets from Kato's mouth until it's official.
