Looks like they're getting into a new product line  ;)

They're also doing some cars to go along with em.

Neat.

Now I wonder what size batteries they use...

And if they're shipped in discreet packaging.

'D' cells would be about right for HO.

What gets me is they're calling them "Fox Valley" even though they're ex-MTH tooling. I guess because they own the FV trade name now and didn't want to go through the hassle of creating another marketing identity. Possibility of these being ported to N is zero (IMO).

What got my attention is the SD45 (HO) announcement. That is certainly port-able to N, although I wonder if they would undermine Atlas in that way. Also, like Atlas... no UP in the first announced run. What?

I think that's their 4th run of HO SD45.  But yeah, no UP yet.

Ha ha. Have one. Surprisingly, it's one of my best runners.

Possibly because MTH still has a presence of some sort: https://mthtrains.com

Scale Trains only purchased HO & S tooling, so they can't have an MTH "brand".

Glad to see ST release the Arrow cars - the MTH versions had nice tooling, but they got the N&W "red" so wrong.

MTH had 2 runs, each with different variations of maroon. I emailed them to ask if they're going with variation 1, 2, or a 3rd.

I have 7 or the 8 passenger cars in the original release, so Scale Trains is only doing one number that I don't already have. I don't know how to feel about this, should I buy another 8 to match the J that I'm going to order, or do I hope that they colors are "close enough". Aside from the $800, I'm running out of space to store stuff.

I didn't ask, but now I'm curious if the model is going to have the MTH cam that BLI copied and was subsequently sued for, or if Scale Trains has a license to use it or bought the patent for it.

The Arrow pics on the site look a bit "milky" to me (not like anything I ever saw).

It isn't horrible though (ie purple).  :D

I got a response, they are going with option 3. My wallet says to buy a "J" and get some different number cars in a later run, but my heart knows that the colors will never match. No one can ever get the colors to match. I'm going to go cry $600 tears now.
