Kato parts blow ups

Looking to see if anyone has a hidden parts blowup data base for kato parts. I'm already aware of the HOseeker.net page but that only goes so far foward into the newer stuff....
I acquired a bunch of kato parts and I'm trying to match things up based off the numbers stamped.

If you post a picture, I bet we could identify most of them (or at least know which locomotive diagram to find).

And welcome to the forum!

I know of no such N scale Kato (or any other manufacturer) parts cross-reference document.

Yes, that can be a challenge.
For example, Atlas has been re-numbering old parts.  I recently had a challenge identifying the part I wanted because the website said they did not have the part- but it was under the new number, and they did have it.

If the "number stamped" is a SKU number, I've occasionally had luck going to the Kato webpage and typing in the number in the search bar. No guarantees, of course.  On the old site it worked better, now it only seems to work for items they have in stock.

Tom D.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Huh, I don't know how much more of this might be out there, but it's a start, and it's also N scale not just HO:  Here's the Kato F3/F7

Yeah I already tried all that. I have part lists from them when the parts dept was getting restructured. I have so much with and without bags and tags its a shame.
I really dont want to keep playing the posting pics guessing game

It's understandable that all the pieces can appear intimidating if you are unfamiliar with them. If you let us help, this forum has many knowledgeable people who can practically assemble Kato locomotives blindfolded. Probably the only challenge would be worms and gears.  Everything else is likely easily identifiable as it would be unique to a specific prototype.

I picked up one of their parts diagram of discontinued products because I had a bunch of parts and had no idea of which unfinished project they went to. The parts diagrams, at least for the SD45's, did not match the part numbers stamped on the parts :-( ugh. dont remember if the original boxes had diagrams in them, but that might be your best bet if you can find some

When I built my ATSF rotary snowplow that was in RMC, I needed short-wheelbase six-axle trucks, and this was before ATSFmodels was around.  And they had to be pickup and easy rolling, as I wanted to power the plow blade with a gearmotor as a dummy pushed unit, not powered (ATSF 199361)

I ended up using the Kato RSC2 trucks, end axles, easy rolling, short wheelbase (10' 6") six wheel trucks.

They aren't like the Atlas RSC ones, the gear tower is centered and the axles are evenly spaced.  It worked great.   You could pull the wheels off that center axle easily.   And it has end-axle pickups.

Just a thought....
