GHQ Hiawatha Kits

Because Fox Valley's hiawatha is hard to find, I'll make GHQ's kits.
Seems like they sell pewter kits first, and they make resin kits.
How is it worth?

I found some reviews. I saw some F7 locos but no coaches.

The detail and quality of these shells in either pewter or resin are unparalleled. I model Canadian railroads but this one has always been very tempting!

I've done a lot of GHQ kits both vehicles and two conversion kits.

Best pewter parts ever and worst instructions ever.   See if you can find someone that's done it.

I NEVER would have been able to finish the GHQ L1 conversion without Max's article in the PRR modeler, that had lots of photos and tips.   I don't know if anyone has done that for the Hiawatha or if there are build threads out there, but the postage-stamp size instruction sheets with GHQ kits don't do the quality of the parts justice.

The instruction sheets for the Hiawatha are on the webpage that thbguy posted. Hopefully, they've learned from the experiences modelers had trying to follow the L1 instructions.  I can't say how complete the instructions are (never having tried to build one), but clearly a couple of full pages, that you can print out to any size you want.

They also note on the instructions that plans are available in the March 1996 issue of Model Railroader.

I built one of the F7 Hudson kits probably 25 years ago and don't remember the instructions being overly difficult to follow.  That being said, I'm sure each kit's instructions are different.
