Good stuff.  (Even if the second link is for HO.)  The BN hopper without logo is very much of my era.  Wish there some boxcars like that.

Same cars are being done in N scale. They just copied the wrong link.

Attempting to model a modern Southern Pacific based in 2015/2016...

Also, I have a passenger train addiction...

Those 30k tanks were actually built starting in the 70s, right?
I wish they'd do some schemes from that era.

70's designs still used in the late 2010s?  I was considering them but trying to get correct modern cars.

How is the ride height on the Athearn cars?

I believe so. But these things are all still quite common. You're far better served by them than I am.

I'm going to get a few, they look to be pretty common on current trains.

@Scottl the later version with the side ladders (plmx and cbtx in this release) is the most common version I see at work today, I see both of those schemes and if you can find the older Procor and utlx releases they are spot on... The other version with the platform across the top are still found but they are becoming less and less common, I have seen lots in the last 8 years tho.

Not sure these would push back into the 1970s they have the modern insulation jacket that dates them to the 80s +
N scale definitly needs an earlier version without the modern features.

Edit: in a Halcon cab on my way to work and blocked by a train in Edmonton, saw both PLMX and CBTX cars (identical to this release) and a older version (same as athearn) in UTLX.

CP not CN but we both serve so many of the same customers you would see them on CN too.

Thanks @Missaberoad.  I see the CBTX cars a lot going to and from Calgary and caught some in my CN videos too.  Good to know some spotting details.  I need more tankers, for sure.
