My Southern unit is hopefully on its way soon.

I don't think I've been this excited for a non-Conrail family unit ever.

I thought we would get a heads-up.

They did send me a heads up email about a week and a half ago saying I'd be charged on the 31st.  Two Chessie on the way for me.   8)

Oooh yes, Southern is a dead-on solid runthrough on that route.

Yup. Last I heard it was early February, so this was a pleasant surprise.

Well, sure enough I did get that email....I was sick last week and must have just glossed over it.   I stand corrected.

Probably wouldn't have mattered anyway...I was thinking about dropping down to three since the Atlas GP40s are also supposed to hit any day now.   But let's be real, I wasn't really thinking that hard about it.   :D

Same here!

I was surprised to receive the "they're here!" notice this morning. I ordered DC/DCC, and already have the E24 decoders on my bench waiting for 'em, so I'm pumped!

Now I have a reason/excuse to clean the track.  ;)

Even though it's HO scale, figured this would be the one to really float your boat:

No SD40-2s for me, but I did get an email from them that it's time to pay for the 53' containers.
Maybe I'll add a loco to the order. 😚

I just got notified my BN unit will be shipped in the next few days. Looking at receipts for the last years, Rapido and Scale Trains got about 80% of my budget.

My only complaint is the BN is also a mid-phase, large anti-climber unit with minimal differences to the Conrail units (also on order). So I'll need to pick up an early phase for the SD40-2 project. I already put an order in for the SP tunnel motor.

Just ordered 1 CSX SD-40-3. Not sure I can realistically use it as a run through unit or not, as I doubt CSX uses a lot of these on road freights anymore.

The UP units in this run are too old for my time period. So much for railroad name brand loyalty.

It wasn't too long ago I saw a CSX sd40-3 roll through Ogden. Maybe within the last 5 years or so. I'm surprised ST hasn't done a 40-N for UP. I see those quite often.
