Spirit of 2026?

You wouldn't know it from the news, but America turns 250 years old in a little over 2 years.  Back in 1976, the Bicentennial was huge, and many railroads went all in with commemorative units decorated in patriotic schemes.

Seems to me with the proliferation of heritage style units on the rails, we ought to start hearing or seeing 250th birthday scheme loco plans come to fruition. I've already noticed a couple model manufacturers running models of the Bicentennial units, but not seeing or hearing much about anything related to 250.

If you are, share here.

I've had a Bicentennial unit since... well... the Bicentennial!

(well, almost.  I think I did this one in about 1984 to establish the period I was modeling, post Conrail spin-off shortline)

CSX will be busy with the Bicentennial of the B&O (and therefore American common carrier railroading) in 2027, but since they've entered the paint shop sweepstakes, I wouldn't be surprised to see a red white and blue adaptation, especially since the frequently modeled and well regarded SCL 1776 was one of theirs.
