What eastern roads would you want to see on the IMRC 1937 AAR boxcar?

Aaron:  I think the only 40 ft AAR boxcar I've seen with 7 ft doors is the ancient ConCor car from the late 60s.  Not a bad model, actually, and the originals even had lo-pro wheels.  It is a little embarrassing that N scale has multiple PS-1s and no readily available AAR cars.

These are all I have for Eastern cars so you could certainly surprise me. Sets of six cars is the most budget friendly. Recall that Broadway ltd issued 18 numbers of the ARA,4 pocket hoppers sold in sets of six. set A, B, C and D. I thought it was doable. It took several weeks to get all 18 but I thought it was worth it.

You could also try something stunning and have a couple sets of the IM Pfaudler milk cars done.

Would prefer RTR would good details.

Would really be interested in any eastern road to help add diversity to the fleet and use higher detailed models like ESM normally produces.

4-6 road numbers per scheme would be great!

How about ACL, B&O, C&O, FEC, NKP, SAL, Southern, WM

Would be tempted by any of those, also DL&W, Erie, LV.

I didn't mention NH cuz that's probably tops on your list.

I model DL&W and Erie, so NKP-area roads and eastward (particularly New England roads) would be welcome.  Kits or R-T-R.

If offering in multiple road numbers - for multi-packs, try to keep the MSRP under $100.  Hopefully that gets three or four cars, (not just two) but it could be helpful for budgeting purposes. There probably aren't many who can spring for a 6-pack or 10-pack of cars, and those that can shouldn't mind having to order a couple different SKU's to acquire their fleet.

Might even be missing rivets. One of the box cars is missing the rivets on one side on the bolster tabs.

Ride height can be controlled favorably by the truck frame. Atlas Barber S2a 50-ton and ASF A-3 70-ton being the most logical candidates. MTL 1015 covers the body-mounted couplers. If I was going to retool, I’d choose a different prototype since this tooling is still viable.

Four cars for $100 isn’t viable, especially with a dealer discount structure. Three per hopefully is feasible. Hadn’t thought of multi-packs but that may be a way to help keep costs down even with a new vacuum nest, if packaging exists already.

Still just spitballing. Was happy to learn I could get plastic, which started the gears turning.

As a western modeler , I still need cars to fill out the fleet. Having B&O in early schemes would be great along with Erie, Lackawanna,  and Southern but could use almost anything. Kits are no issue.

As Bryan said, fixing the ride height is a simple matter.  I have a jig for filing the body bolsters, and doing it in the tooling would be equally simple.  Maybe as simple as putting ESM trucks on the cars!

Either 1015 or 1025 couplers mount fine on the older cars, after the bolsters have been filed.  I've seen a few newer ones that seem to have added material, so the coupler is at the right height with the too-high body.  Those took a lot of work, especially since they were assembled cars.
