@MTLJoe @MTL_Brandon no complaints here. Can you get Accurail to start offering some of their HO models of cars not yet produced in N scale to us in return?  We really need modern 2 bay hoppers, not that your new PS-2 two bay isn't a good car. And a TBOX with the grid pattern on the sides in addition to just the vertical ribs would be icing on the cake.

Shoot, MTL acquiring Accurail would probably be a great thing for both of them.

Can you imagine hybrid Accumate/MTL couplers in N scale!?  Reliable coupling, magnetic uncoupling, and  no slink!  :D

Wow.. this is cool... Great news for both...

I agree with the decision of the choice of Accurail..

Great way for them to clear out stock and keep cash flowing.. (which I have assumed was the Genesis of the N/Z Weathering series.)

Question.. Do dealers have to order through MTL or will Accurail also have these available?

These will be available from MTL Dealer network  We have not discussed anything other than OEM at the moment.  PS...no we are not buying Accurail.  No one is buying anything until I get my Soft Serve Ice-cream machine...

Right, but my question (from a dealer perspective).. these are only going to be available from MTL.. and Accurail will not carry/offer any inventory on these..
... If they are pre-order only.. it sounds like it will be MTL Only.... similar to when you offered custom Con-Cor products in the past.

Ian, sorry, I'm not up to speed on how this works exactly.  Im not that high on the food chain around here. ;)  I understand this is available through regular dealer networks...i believe we've had a few order already but don't quote me on that.  I'll ask and see if I can get more info.  They will not be available from Accurail as I understand it.  Our agreement is OEM only, not distriibution etc...

When MTL first got into weathering I thought they could never do a good job . They have proved me wrong monthly . Too bad they don't produce a line of steam locos . Maybe a line of derelict non powered steam locos in various states of dissection all weathered up .

Any local McDonalds should have one they'll sell cheap. Probably a fixer upper though, but you could 3D print the parts at work.

Again, N scale leads the way ...
KATO came up with split frames and end-cup pickup (eliminating wipers and wire) first in N scale .... Then HO cried for it.
N scale came up with N-Trak and modular travelling layouts .... and HO cried for it.
Now the best weathering in any scale, pioneered in MTL N scale, and HO is crying for it.
The best new MR ideas come from N scale.

Rah, rah rah!
But H0 has been around much longer than N.
Why do we always have to compare N scale to H0?
