How Much Should I Sell My Loco For?

Years and years ago I bought a Bachman On30 two-truck Shay unlettered DCC with Sound. Gorgeous thing. Ran it back and forth on a straight 8’ test track for 15 minutes and enjoyed the sounds as well. Put it all back in the box and it sat on a shelf as the On30 track I envisioned failed to materialized. Now I’m back into things in HO scale and figured I should sell something I’ll never use again and buy some expensive rolling stock for my new Aberdeen & Rockfish layout.

My question is really how much should I realistically ask for this loco on the boards, eBay, whatever? I see prices for almost NIB pre-owned locos of the same model that go from one extreme to the other. I just want to be fair and I’m not interested in price gouging.

Help!

You do know that many of these sit on shelves because the bevel gear crack. NWSL makes metal replacements.

When I contacted NWSL about 6 months ago, they said they didn't have any in stock and they said they didn't know if the new owner would make anymore.
