I knew they'd eventually do one of their little PS-2 2-bays that I could justify in my era.

I'm glad to see the L&N set, hoping we also see a diner and maybe a sleeper or two in the future. The single window coach is very close to several series of L&N coaches. The baggage and RPO aren't close at all, but the dark blue with palmer script hides a lot.

I don't really need the set- I've been painting my own, but with Rapido cancelling the ATSF reefer, I have some pre-order money available....so maybe.

PS- L&N heavyweight sleepers had "Pullman" on the letterboard, not Louisville and Nashville. Also in Palmer script.

Anyone know the story behind the UP boxcar with airplane?  Does the MTL end door box bear any resemblance to the real UP 161109?

@MTLJoe , if you ever do an L&N diner, might I recommend 2722, "Globe Coffee House"?  It's preserved not too far away from me, so I could easily get good lettering script photos, and I bet the museum would love to sell some in their gift shop.

The bulkhead flat with tire load looks pretty cool. I'm betting the load will come unpainted so I've got time to figure out how to make them look like rubber.

The UP boxcar is the same as PRR one released a while back. Which railroad is it a prototype from?

I've made a note to print them in a black.  If you can find it, Testors Model Master had a tire color that was pretty convincing.  There are sites on line for cross referencing paint and I suspect there is a Vallejo color that will match it really close.

Tamiya XF-69 Flat NATO Black or XF-85 RUBBER BLACK are bot good "tire" colors.  I'm sure Vallejo also has a similar color available.

A diner in the L&N set would be great.  Ditch the useless RPO.   :D

The six window RPO continues to be an anomaly in these sets.  It's of a much earlier era in almost all cases then the schemes being chosen.

As a counterpoint, heavyweight diners often outlived their original assignments and continued on even in name trains.   They were expensive cars to replace.  This makes them useful in a much wider window.

Good points, Mike.  I've been hoping for years that someone would make shells for 60' baggage or baggage-mail cars that could ride on the MTL chassis (which is what happened to a lot of the 3-3/4-2 window RPOs) or just a 6-0 window (ala Atlas) as replacements for the MTL body.  I rebuilt 2 with M&R sides as ATSF, but those sides haven't been readily available for some years now.
