Last week I tried posting this photo while I was on the pictured train to NYC. No dice, so the weird ouroboros moment was missed, but enjoy "gray".

Before 1309, before 734, and even before there was a Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, there was Jack Showalter's Allegany Central, featuring ex Canadian Pacific 4-6-2 1238 in September of 1989.  These shots were taken shortly after the old Elkins turntable had been installed at Frostburg, and during a joint convention of the WMRHS and a B&O research group from Ohio.  The second view was from the pasture overlooking Helmstetter's Curve.  This was prior to the installation of the GAP trail, but after the track was realigned to the inside radius of the curve in preparation for the trail.

Sorry about the rough images.  Shot on a Pentax K on color print film and scanned, then condensed for use on a primitive website.  My original scan was lost in a hard drive crash, and the original print is long gone.
