Oh, why  not just use the Gallery for photos?  It is not *THAT* difficult. Tom was never very found of using attachments to posts.

Gallery makes organizing photos much easier, so they can be found and reused as needed. I do reuse photos in multiple posts and having them organized and searchable makes reusing them easier.  It is just like having a Fotki or Flicker account, right here on TRW.  That assumes you actually creating a categories structure in the gallery instead of dumping them all in the General bucket, or (like many here do), for some reason incorrectly uploading them into the WUD folder.

But, watermark...

Why would that be a problem? I reuse them almost exclusively on TRW, and if I very seldom link to the photos externally I don't see a problem with the watermark.  And if you do attach photos to a post, external linking would be failry awkward anyway.

To me TRW Gallery is like a private photo hosting site for photos I use (and reuse) on TRW. Main benefit is that the photos are organized and quickly found if needed.

If you are interested, see how some members set up their Galleries (I noticed that you only have the default category set up).

It's slightly less convenient, especially on a mobile device.

The answer I have to that would not be welcome here.

Why add the step of uploading photos to a computer first?  And what's the percentage of mobile browsing vs computers these days?

Probably 80% of my photo submissions to TRW the last 3 years are direct from my mobile platform.  YMMV. The Attachement almost always guarantees my photo appears as I want it; more then half the time if I choose to upload to the gallery I have to delete the photo and re upload due to orientation issues. So as @Ed Kapuscinski says, one of these things is not like the other.
