Another item coming down the pipe.   Im looking to have CP and CN models available.   Sill and hood will be printed together....stacks seperate.....pilots im not sure of yet (either printed in place or seperate) and the cab will be a seperate piece.   Life Like drive pickup issues are solved with a little invention of mine...which I wont reveal as of yet.

David-
I’m glad to see you back.
You’ve been doing great work and I believe everyone here would agree with that.
One thing I’m sure you’ve noticed, is that there is a fairly good opportunity for thread drift that may have little or nothing at all to do with your specific post.
Don’t take anything that results from this phenomena personally, unless you can actually verify pointed criticism.
Chin up and move on.

In addition to the model variation, I will be interested in seeing the drive pickup solution ..

Very cool! Any thoughts about printing the cab mounted class lights on the CNR version in clear resin to make them light up?
Because why not...

Dave I'm glad you are back. I really do like your work and you elevate this forum. Please don't don't take anything too personally here. We do like to poke each other a bit.

I really want one of those SD40-2F. What is your site again? It might be good if you added it to your signature.

That is a very exciting addition to your n scale offerings. I’ll be interested in both the CN and CP variants for sure. Hoping that you will get around to the SWeep that I’ve tried once or twice to start building many years ago.

The QNSL shell that I got from you is really excellent. Buying detail bits to trick that one out.

Thank you, Dave.

You may have to file the cab base down a hair to get the nose to sit down perfectly.   If you break anything, let me know.

+1 on interest in this project, M. Bedard.   Big thanks in advance, and looking forward to the outcome of this work.  I have a big flock of the Life-Like units that could use some good ole "canadianization", along with some electrical upgrading magic.

The SW1200RS is on my list of must have locomotives (both CN and CP), however though I have a few of the LL SW9/1200's, I bought a small fleet of Kato NW2's as cores for a one day conversion kit. Hopefully it won't be too difficult to adapt your shell to a Kato.

The LL easily outpull the Kato, but the Kato is a better runner.

Can you get flexicoils for the Kato NW2?

I suspect not, but I can probably work out a way to attach the truck sides of MTL flexicoils to the trucks in a fashion similar to the Briggs Models M-420. I have a few of the MTL flexicoils but haven't bothered to attempt it because there hasn't been any SW1200RS kits available other than the Miniatures By Eric kits, which I decided wasn't worth attempting. Which reminds me, I have a bunch of MBE flexicoil truck sides in that box as well.

A LifeLike shell will fit up on a Kato chassis. I did one a while ago and don’t recall it being particularly difficult.
With a little work the LifeLike can be made to run extremely well too.
