Ajax Brake Wheels in N

Hello, can anyone tell me who else makes or has made Ajax style hand brake wheels in N besides Micro-Trains? I've looked at MTL 1088 but honestly by the photos I've seen they don't really look like the style I see in references. This is what I expect them to look like:

Gold metal models has that style in their brass brake wheel assortment.

Atlas also makes one that they supply with their PS-1 models (the undecorated version comes with a number of brake wheels)

A quick search also turned up this on eBay

No connection but it looks pretty good.

The Micro-Trains Ajax brakewheels still look like that.  They currently are more delicate detail-wise than the original 1972 design, as they are molded now out of acetal plastic rather than ABS plastic.  But the detail is still there.

The GMM etched Ajax brake wheels are very nice, having 3D detail etched into them.  However, for more correctness, you'll need to dish them before you solder (or glue) them to their shaft.

Photo (1) - Gold Medal Models etched Ajax Brake Wheel in N scale (row 10):

I've been using these for years when I want a more prototypical looking brakewheel on a well-detailed model I've been working on.

But, you only get six of them per sheet, which is my only complaint since I haven't used any of the other 90 wheels...and I'm into my second sheet.

Have fun!

Thanks for the info. I should have known about the Kato ones as I actually have a pair left over from an ACF hopper build. I was unaware of the GMM parts so that'll possibly be a good resource.

Does anybody have a good photo of the MTL parts that shows the detail? I haven't been able to find any convincing shots in my limited online search.

I have a 3d printed version that is close to scale (sorry can’t post pics yet). If you only need a few I could send some samples. If you need a lot I can do them at a reasonable cost.
