The SP boxcar they made was also used by Amtrak. So Rapido being Rapido, the car being SP or similar to other models conceivably may not have mattered as much as accurate Amtrak trains.
I just picked up ten (tankcars) seeing as the odds of them being rerun just got a little less likely.
The ten new Procor GP20 tankcars arrived the other day. Of the ten, four were shedding parts (drain guard, hazmat placards, dome railings), two had the weight shift in transit and an end popped off as a result (quick fix), most have couplers that are stiff. All roll well and operated free of any noticeable issues (no derailments, wobble, etc), and the stiff couplers performed without issue other than a few not coupling without assistance due to them being slightly misaligned.I like these cars even with the issues above, which most have noted on their GP20 tanks, since they don't affect operation, and even I am skilled enough to reattached the parts. They're sharp looking cars, and now make up the largest type of Rapido freight cars I own.
They hint and it's only a hint about a N RS18,RS18u,RSC14 and that opens the door to an RS11. Might be okay wish they'd do a state of the art GP7/9
Swap in ESM wheels. Then they really look stunning. After you re-attach all of the parts.
Their wheels don't bother me too much (except those on the PSC vans), but I'm not a 'close enough it often good enough' guy. Besides, my large fleet of RC autoracks and TWX 86'sers have been gobbling up all the ESM wheels I've bought.
Lock4244, that's the killer- Rapido makes the SP B50 in N, a car that I think ran from the 20's to the 60's.
Today's newsletter might be reason behind not being able to read n scale market. More focused on 1:1 market
So would you say the same thing about Atlas then, with their recent spending on branding an NJT train?
