Wig-Wag Trains
« on: August 16, 2023, 09:32:52 PM »
I was searching for something online and a link appeared for Wig-Wag Trains. That was a memory from long ago. I remembered they had a most :interesting" web page and the link took me there. However, the website closed after a bit saying something about a new web site and transferring files.

Is Wig-Wag still around or just an internet search artifact?

https://wig-wag-trains-cart.com/ seems to be their new site.  It's not great, but seems genuine.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

I did two orders with them fairly recently (About a year ago.. and last November)... The experience was.... interesting... but the prices were good and I got my stuff.

I had a chuckle reading "If you hoover over a product picture you can click 'Quick View' and additional information will be available while leaving you on the page."

As I side note, we had this exact Hoover growing up. I know because I did my chores every week.

You were a good boy Dave!  :D

I also believe that the word "hoover" is still used in UK the same way we use the word "vacuum" here on this side of the big pond.

Yes, I realize that I started a total OT diversion here. Not sorry.  :)

They put their shop keys next to their in-stock list and are now in always open hell.

Does that mean your browser is vacuuming up the data?

With a car full of vacuums, did it really matter?

As I recall, they had a site for listing what they had and then if you wanted to buy something, you went to another site...and that second site was either hacked or crashed or taken down and they lost the ability to buy online. That was maybe 2 years ago and I guess they still haven't fixed it yet. They have a weird business model where if you preorder something they (more often than not) have the lowest price of anyone, but once its out the price goes up. You have to be careful when you order if you're not sure if something is out yet or you can get the higher price. I used to order from them quite often but then I stopped preordering most stuff so I haven't used them for awhile.
