Excited to hear about the restart, and to see your outstanding kits get new homes. I have an assembled auto ramp and would love another kit. But I have no desire to overwhelm you and hope that you find a good way to do this. Thank you for thinking of us.

Kind regards,
Michael

Had lunch with Brad yesterday and he is onboard. If all goes well, he will have stock for Altoona.

Already speaking to one member about Santa Fe bridges so if any other member is interested in getting a Topock 2-Track Deck Pratt, I will be making only one run of these as a special order. The 313ft (23.5in) option can be made in the US since 1 span fills 1 sheet. The 189ft (14.25ft) was tooled to use a sheet size I can’t have made anymore. I will have to retool it for the UK. I will do the retool if there are FIRM commitments.

I was waiting for these to be available when you shut down, so if you ever get this in production - I will be buying some:

Although it comes with a B&O CPL, the structure itself is nearly identical to the ones used on N&W: https://railroadsignals.us/signals/nwcpl/g302.JPG

I mentioned the restart to my friend yesterday while he was here working on his layout.  That signal was instantly brought into the discussion.

Bob,
Glad to hear you're working to come back online. As others have said, health and family are top priorities.
If you ever decide to do a modern cantilever signal tower, with or without Darth Vader signal heads, I'd be at the head of the order line.
Best of good fortune with your revival.

@TrainCat2, hope you'll consider releasing the PRR H25 you had on tap, I'm sure no manufacture will be releasing this car.

It's in my time frame of late 40's.  I'd buy 3 or 4 to build.

Just heard back from PEI. They had been bought out a couple years ago and the new owners had shutdown the "decorative" division. PEI had been trying to get permission to do a final run for me but the parent finally made a decision to decline my order. At least I will get my photo tools sent to me. So far this is just a setback if I am able to find another company that uses the same sheet size. If not, I will have to be extreamly selective in what is re-tooled for production elewhere.

At least I now know what I have to do to move forward but sorry guys, some items will be extremely limited and H-25 hoppers may not be viable. More to be revealed.

 boB,
That's not very good news at all, but you did get your work back. So that's a good thing.
Hope you can find another company that will do the same size sheets.

Ouch, that's a bit of a setback boB.
I wonder if you still have the files with the original artwork?  If you do, couldn't you just send those to a fabricator and they would then create the new photo tools?

The photo tools are only good if I can find another etcher that will do my kind of work and produces 18x24 sheets.

Plan B would be take the designs and remake each kit layout to fit the sheet size of another etcher. Example, PPD’s sheet is roughly 11x23. If I place a kit design on a PPD sheet, my yield would be about 70% (30% waste). So new layout to optimize their sheet. Time and new photo tools mean that only select products would be reproduced.

Like I said, a setback.
