My new 65 ft gon came today . Congrats to MTL . Metal low pros , body mounted couplers . As many 1950's schemes they make I will buy . Bravo .
MTL started N scale with metal wheels, now back again -- looks like things have come full circle (like a wheel going around)
But these aren't your father's metal wheels.
Glad you like it. One of my favorite cars actually.Joe
Unfortunately, what I read here indicates that MTL hasn't caught up with Fox Valley and ESM in the wheels department.
@sirenwerks Appears to be some form of Ross, perhaps an earlier one... should be good for the early/mid '40s to late 1960s or 1970s. Here's one I did a while back: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=55199.msg757607#msg757607 which is based on some prototypes that were photographed in Montana in the mid/late 1960s. The larger ones are capable of lifting empty 20' containers.
What is the prototype for the forklift included in the Southern Pacific Supply Car 3-Pack?
