TomyTec Car Carriers (1:150 scale)

TomyTec announced a new carrier today in 1:150 scale.  They come in two paint schemes, and may have some kitbashing potential to use with 1:160 scale vehicles.

Unable to obtain any of the models from the first release, I am glad to see that these are finally being run again.

I received a package from Japan a few days ago that included the TomyTec auto carriers.  While the UD tractor that came with the trailer looks good, I wanted to see what the carrier would look like with a 1:160 scale tractor and 1:160 scale cars.  So, I replaced the UD with a Trainworx KW W900A (Secret Weapon Mike's) and added six Atlas Ford Taurus sedans.  The black Taurus on the top rack rolls to freely to stay put on its own, so the white Taurus is bumper to bumper with it to keep as far forward as possible.



The single axle trailer with single wheels (rather than tandem axle with dual wheels) seems unlikely to be found carrying six automobiles in North America.  Also, the overall height is probably a bit excessive.

It looks better with the Kenworth. I know I've seen quite a lot of car carriers using either a Kenworth W900 or Peterbilt 389 as the tractor.
