ROAD TRIP!!!
I've been wanting to go to this show for a few years now and finally have the opportunity.
Seeing all the aforementioned goonery and seeing what you guys on the east side were doing with modular layouts made me wish it wasn't 2723 miles from here.
Between flying and renting a car and hotels it was a little cost prohibitive
 until now.
I have recently decided to sell off the bulk of my collection because some of it has just become a burden on my train time. I can run most of my stuff on our Ntrak club layout, but sometimes stuff needs attention and this stuff doesn't behave and then I always seem to run the same trains.
So now that I'm retired, I have the time and decided I wanted to narrow down my era to minimize my stuff. Since I've been collecting DL&W, Erie, E-L, D&H and other northeast roads the prospect of selling off stuff at local shows didn't hold any promise.
Enter this show.
I've spent several weeks going through ALL of my trains and deciding what to keep and what to sell and did I have a lot! Enough to pay for most of the trip, even at deep discounts, SO...
I've priced things cheap packed them all up and will be loading the Moose and heading east.
I managed to secure 2 tables and hotel reservations and sell a few items here and elsewhere to procure some gas money, so I will be there, God willing.
And since I am originally from the Scranton/ Pocono area, I can take some time to drop in on some family.
I am also looking very forward to meeting all of you guys that I have known digitally (wait, that doesn't sound right) on the webs for a long time.
It's been since 2008 when we took the club layout to Louisville that I traveled back yonder for N-Scale festivities.
So stop and see me, say hello and I'll make some killer deals. I got lots of cool stuff and I don't want to take it home with me.

 :ashat:         ROAD TRIP !!!

And it looks like they've done some brush removal at the Curve again.  Good news for railfans along with the fact we don't have an imminent railroad strike tying down traffic thru the area like last year

I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone.
I have 2 tables of stuff and I'm willing to deal, I don't want to take this stuff home.
The Moose is packed fueled up and I'll be heading out at 0 dark 30 tomorrow morning,
just hope I can sleep tonight!

Perhaps we should organize a Railwire meet em up on Friday and/or Saturday evening.

Letting my fingers do the walking... (my gawd, am I that old?) I came across this place that offers wings and beer...

https://goo.gl/maps/RXw2xAEZjy9A9P6M7

Looks like a good local pub where we can come and go as our schedules suit.  The reviews are good, it's in a good location in town, and did I mention wings and beer?  (I also have a strong preference for local taverns over chain restaurants... it might be harder to park, but I believe that helps reduce the riff raff.)

Friday is the open house at the AAMR clubhouse, so maybe here for more of a Happy Hour, then we can do one of the bigger joints on Saturday night, or just grab carry out on our way up to the Curve.... or down to Duncansville, or out to Cresson... wherever the wind carries us.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Should we come up with an award for the T shirt with the most obtuse train reference?

Don't I know it!  I got the modules out two weeks ago to clean them up.  So far the only thing I've accomplished is to break stuff that wasn't broken...  Looking forward to seeing you, @randgust .  Lots to catch up on.

By the way, I finally dragged that old throttle out to try to use it... it seems to be dead.  I checked the fuses, they seem fine, but there doesn't seem to be power getting to anything.  Do you want it back to tinker with or part it out?  Or should I just let it go...?
