If you have a 3D printer, or know someone, this has some good bones to it.  I just printed one as a test.  Fenders are a little too thin, inner wheel/hub detail didn't print(solid inner wheel) and the corner frames are too fragile and broke off while removing supports.  With some changes to the original file, it could probably be very good.  It's drawn as 1/32 scale.  And the price for the file is great, FREE !

Those key chain models look really nice. I have 3 of the Wiking JD tractors, 2 came without the loader or forks and 1 came with the loader and look great. It would be nice to get one of the key chain JDs to compare. One of mine is halfway in a barn so the dark windows would not even be noticeable. I wouldn't mine grabbing on of the Case models but my wife comes from a John Deere farm family and well.....

WOW... no sooner had I replied to this thread and I already had two pop up adds, one for the key chain and one for John Deere OEM parts :scared:

I thought it might be interesting to have a comparison photo of a 1:160 scale farm tractor next to a 1:160 pickup.  I used the Wiking John Deere 8530 since the prototype is a large frame row crop tractor, and the Atlas Ford F-150 because it is probably the most common N scale pickup.   :)

As you can see, the tractor is much taller than the pickup, but they are both approximately the same length.

That tractor is probably close to TT scale (1:120).

No, they're just huge. Tractordata.com gives the 8530 a length of 219.1". A 1997 F150 has a length between 202" and 244".

I see. I'm not really up on the agricultural equipment.  That is a one large tractor!  The rear tires alone are taller than the Ford truck!

I grew up in New England (where, by coincidence, @peteski lives).  Farms there are quaint.

I went to school at the University of Illinois, which is in the middle of farm country (corn and soybeans mostly).  My roommate was an actual farmer.  The scale of farming there amazed and astonished me - so did the all TV commercials for seed corn, Purina hog chow (really!) and farm implements.   After that, New England tractors just looked like cute little toys.

Just a normal farm in the West. Farming has gotten very big in the past 30 years.
The days of a small family farm working a single section with a few exceptions are all but gone.

Even our grain trains have gotten big 144 cars, 8300 feet, and 20,000 tons plus.

We Can... That Seed Hawk seeder in the Thumbnail is made in Langbank, Saskatchewan tho.  ;)
...and while that Steiger (CaseNH) is a quality piece of equipment made in Fargo, ND, just across the border in Winnipeg Versatile is still making the big boys too.  :D
