Frisco would be a bit interesting but definitely doable...I'm picturing these cars:70' baggage/RPO: https://thelibrary.org/lochist/frisco/friscoline/images/photos/p00851.jpg70' baggage: https://thelibrary.org/lochist/frisco/friscoline/images/photos/p01665.jpgPaired window coach (blue/white?): https://thelibrary.org/lochist/frisco/friscoline/images/photos/p00875.jpg OR single window coach https://www.hodrrm.org/body.cfm?id=110Lounge/parlor: https://thelibrary.org/lochist/frisco/friscoline/images/photos/p01595.jpgPullman sleeper: https://frisco.org/mainline/2018/03/07/pullman-sleeper-car-laidlaw/I'm more than happy to dig up some paint codes for the blue/white if it'd help. Round roof on the coach would be tremendous but not having it isn't a deal breaker.Frisco had a significant amount of head end traffic and the lounge would have had a lunch counter -- definitely able to substitute for a full diner on an overnight St. Louis - Oklahoma City train. For reference, a photo of SLSF 1044 (the number BLI is producing) on a roughly similar train in St. Louis: https://frisco.org/mainline/2016/06/01/4-6-2-1044/
how about a NWP heavyweight set for an SD9?
@MTLJoe - please let us know what further research or prototype info would help move these sets over the finish line to production. I don't know how to foster improved collaboration between manufacturers, but it looks like TRW members are helping to connect the dots! Thanks everyone for the participation in this thread!
Painting and Lettering diagrams and drawings of the M-K-T font in use at the time would probably be helpful. I'm not sure you want them following the repainted museum pieces. Color samples are important too!
I don’t think the “Laker” had any specialized or unique cars. Certainly doable.Randy
if you have any specific requests, please let me know. always looking for new set ideas.CheersJoe
@MTLJoe , To follow up on some specifics for @MTLJoe and others-The Louisville & Nashville blue & gray passenger scheme would look great on those MTL Heavyweights... I'd love to see a Pullman Green NYC 5-car set, too. Chris
I wanted to knuckle up to and shove on this topic...@MTLJoe - can you hint towards anything mentioned in this thread getting some traction?Seeing the proof of my review of the Bachmann N scale 4-8-2 as Frisco 1501 in the upcoming October issue of Model Railroad News brought this to the front of my mind...
