Micro Engineering N scale Code 55 Flex Update

   I had called ME in December to find out when they would be running a new batch of "N scale code 55 flextrack" and Becky had told me it was scheduled for the 2nd qtr of 23. So Tuesday of this week I called her again and was told they were running it at that time. I call Midwest Model Railroad as soon as I was done done talking with ME and told Don to be on the lookout for the ME track and call me as soon as it was in the shop.  Don called this morning and told me that the got some in, so I run over and grabbed 6 bundles.

  This new batch has no flashing in the tie area that was there on the last batch I bought about a year ago. The ties look very crisp and appears to be from new molds.  There is a slight bit of flash at one or two of the injection pins.

 Me delivered as promised on the 2nd qtr.

I don't need any track now, but that's very good news.  We need more than one reliable source, and the quality improvements are very welcome, as well as a good sign for the new owners.

Good to hear, I need to order a couple more bundles of C55 flex.  I have really grown to like ME flex track and turnouts.

Didn't ask about code 40, but I bet that will be next in line, as I'm sure they have a lot of back orders

They are working on code 55, #6 yard ladder turnouts like they have in HO. They want to add #8's and #10's turnouts (no promises though) to their line too, but don't know if, or how soon that will happen.


  When I talked to them in December, their main focus was getting all the back orders filled first and then look at adding the turnouts.

I'm hoping beyond hope they will offer a #6 in C40. My Photon-printed C40-C55 joiners are working great, but I'd like smaller rail all around in those situations.

#6 ladders and #10s! Please please please! I've fine with the Atlas #10s, but am more familiar with their weaknesses than I would prefer to be.

Made from new molds?
The last ones were not that old so an expensive investment for…?
The only thing that was really grinding on me was how they had the rails off center from the tie center
So when they put 3 sections together to make a full length of flex track they inverted the center section so it would jump out that there was a noticeable stagger.
Hopefully the latest is top notch but pretty much done with acquiring track here at this point
Amazing what Railcraft did for its time as compared with the latest attempts… like 50 years later
