One revised and one new truck from Keystone Details

Keystone Details announces one new truck and a revised truck. The PRR sub-class 2E-F2a is new and just a coil-elliptic version of the 2E-F2 five coil 70t truck.

These trucks were specifically designed for the Bowser PRR sub-class H21a model and have a lowered bolster for corrected ride height. Both trucks were used on most or all H21a and subclasses, b,c,d,e, and f.

The 2E-F2a was designed for a new Keystone Details kit coming soon to convert a Bowser PRR H21a model into an H21d class cement car. See the Hagley images here:

The 8 pack of 2E-F2a trucks can be obtained here.

The revised PRR class 2E-F2 is now 0.5mm less wide to better clear stirrups on the model (as does the 2E-F2a) and the 8 pack can be obtained here.

John,

Are these designed for .540" axle wheel sets or the typical Bowser .553"?

And if I'd gone to the KD page I'd have had my answer - .540"

I hate the plastic that bowser uses for their models. It’s not like the soft plastic that most companies use.

Whoa!! I didn't expect to see the H21d announcement, almost snuck it past me, I had to reread the post to understand what was going on, lol. I got a H21 with WM on it ready to be repainted.  :)

Yep, it’s almost ready. Will have to take a pre-order approach as I have to have these printed special. I can’t offer them directly to the customer, unfortunately.

I’ll announce soon.

Here’s a teaser, ignore the trucks. The OEM trucks broke trying to remove them. An HO modeler requested the kit for a retrofit on a Bowser H21a kit, so I designed it in N knowing I wanted one, scaled it up for him.

Excellent, looks like it will be another great one of a kind PRR model from Keystone Details!

I ordered a set of the new 2E-F2 trucks to try on my Bowser H21a's.  If they work well then I'll have to amend my .553" wheel set order to more .540" and try to negotiate a volume deal from Keystone Details for my 100+ cars.

I need to test coupler clearance to the axle with these trucks- may need to use 1025's instead of 1015's.  I will look tonight.
