More from MRL in January:
1) Empty petroleum coke train returning to Billings from points west (assume export) at Perma, MT., on MRL's 10th Sub. A mere eight units lead the way, not all running of course, on this train that was under 500 axles. For the record - BNSF 7363, BNSF 642, CP 8003, GECX 4923 (ex BNSF -9), NS 4213, BNSF 5363, BNSF 6637, BNSF 7347.

2) Another view of the EB local returning to Logan from Whitehall, passing through the canyon along the Jefferson River. The level area across the river is the grade of the Milwaukee Road's Pacific Extension.

3) One of only two cars to wear this scheme, or FEIX reporting marks for that matter, "Your Sunflower Headquarters" FEIX 100 is in animal feed service and will make up part of the consist of the local departing Whitehall. It's twin, FEIX 101 disappeared around 2006 from what I've read. I could do without the graffiti.

4) A little east of Thompson Falls is scene with great possibilities, but vegetation limits what is possible at this scenic location along the Clark Fork. I'm not sure if I like the result, but it is a little tricky to shoot.
