Intermountain:  Where tooling goes to die.

No, they are just waiting for sufficient number of reservations.

I think Athearn's SD70, C-50 series Bay window caboose, ethanol and LPG tank cars are the finest models made in N scale.  I look forward to their releases.  If it's something that I can use, I buy it.

I'd dig some pre-1970 ACF 4650 cf Covered Hoppers.

I'm no PRR expert, but it strikes me odd that the 50' PS1 is in the circle-keystone scheme with a build date of 1957.  I thought that shadow-keystone was standard as of around 1955.

Were any 50' PS-1 ever painted circle-keystone?

The Shadow Keystone herald was out in 1954.  I can't remember exactly what month it started.  A build date of 1957 would definitely have the Shadow rather than Circle.

The graphic on their website for the PRR car shows a "new" date of 12-57, but a "built" date of 4-42 (well before PS-1 production of any sort, much less the wide door 50' version, and 15 years before PRR had an X47).  I would speculate they took the lettering (and circle logo) from a car built in 1942 (X38a ?), and just inserted "new" date without correcting the built date.  Or correcting for the shadow keystone.  I mean, it's just N scale, after all.....Nope, can't be that- the HO page looks identical.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Life Like also made under the brand name LIFOAM  -- I forgot they were sold to walthers  not athearn .. MDC went to Athearn..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life-Like

Life-Like was a manufacturer of model trains and accessories. In 1960, the company purchased the assets of the defunct Varney Scale Models and began manufacturing model trains and accessories under the name Life-Like in 1970. In 2005 the parent company, Lifoam Industries, LLC, chose to concentrate on their core products and sold their model railroad operations to hobby distributor Wm. K. Walthers. Today, the Life-Like trademark is used by Walthers for HO Scale Buildings.

Intermountain:  Where tooling goes to die.

Intermountain stated on Facebook that they will have preproduction samples of the F7 at the show.

The Pennsy ck PS-1 just shows you need to verify every scheme they release rather than assuming validity.

And I had a senior moment too - I forgot that it was Model Power, not Life-Like, that MRC sold to Lionel.  Hard to keep track.  :(

Bryan:  I'll second those early 4650s.  I need a bunch - GN gray, GN BSB, NP gray, BN green, MILW had five of them, their only Center Flows.

It would be a natural to go with their 4600s, was a very popular prototype, and has never been done before, so would make sense.

Intermountain ran an ad for them, in N scale, years ago.  It only ran one month, and the "new tooling" was never mentioned again.
