Happy New Year all. Thought I was going to visit some people while I was out in AZ, but got the flu on the 2nd day there. Just getting back to normal (OK, my normal)and started painting Bailey Warehouse. There are no color images that I could find so I opted to add some Luck-O-Irish green for the windows and door.  The concrete was painted a tan with the first level of aging done. The brick was done in two colors as the upper floors were added on to the lower structure.

Taking a break from tuning up WM hoppers to work on a couple of fun side projects. Doing some simple detailing on the baby trainmasters. The aux tender was an undec that I picked up for a song to go behind my Y6b whenever it shows up. Slapped some decals on it and converted it to True Scale Couplers

Took a short break from layout reconstruction to finish detailing the first two of my upgraded Atlas GP9s.  Here we see CP 8540 and 8683 with new rerailing frogs mounted.  Those yellow re-railers certainly add a touch of colour!  Other details include nose-mounted bell, horn, antenna, winterization hatch and rear brake wheel--all Miniatures by Eric parts.



Meanwhile, back on the layout, tracklaying has now progressed into Lake Cowichan proper.  The wider section of benchwork nearest the camera is meant to be removable, so I have taken care to align the tracks and cut them precisely at the joint between each section.  The tracks are, from the rear, the CN Cowichan sub to Youbou, the E&N log loading track at Lake Cowichan, and the "main" track.  The Lake Cowichan siding will run along the near side of the main, creating a small yard.

Also got my RhB Allegra running again after sorting an issue with the motor. This has been the most involved DCC installation I've ever done, but I am very satisfied with the results. You can't really see any evidence of decoders or wires in the interior thanks to clever placement of them.

garethashenden:  Turnouts on bridges weren't common, but they weren't all that rare, either, especially in areas with a lot of small streams.  Model railroaders are probably less likely to use them than the prototype, because it's harder to hide our turnout linkages.

I would suggest adding walkways to both sides of the bridge.  Your brakemen needs somewhere to walk!  As an alternative, if there's no reason to walk alongside a train there, plank between the rails, so the brakeman can at least get from the cab to the switchstand, on a trailing-point move.

Yes, but you managed to do a pretty good job on them (and on the rest of the building).  Just few dozen more to go.

The sills still need to be masked and the pilots and walkways painted black but I was excited to see how the GP60I and 60B looked with some decals.

The new Ranger is too big. May as well spring for an F150. Can't figure out why they ceded the compact pickup market in the first place.

All 3 NA car manufacturers did at one point.  The Ranger, Colorado, and Dakota all were off the market for a few years, only small pick ups you could get was the Tacoma really.  Then the Colorado was redesigned/reintroduced, the head design member left GM and went to Ford, they were lead on the Ranger relaunch (see the similarities in the 2 models ?  It's not coincidence ).  Dodge still doesn't have a compact

A shame that Ford foisted this on us, but so far from what I hear, it's almost as good as the Rangers we're used to. Does that seem to be the case with you and your Maverick?

Didn't Ford have a "Maverick" sedan model in the late 60's? I recall the marketing gimmick with it was a screw driver was all that you needed to perform many adjustments.
