Over on facebook Freemo - one of the members created a dress up kit for the N scale Digitrax Signal Masks .. I used a few of his parts and added some of my own to see if I put some lipstick on this SMBK pig ..

I think this will pass the 3 foot test .. for now

I finished the basic kitbash for the Merchants Warehouse. This one will probably be the largest on the layout.

I have also been using test pieces to try out different shading  effects for the brick structure.

Looking good, Craig!  Is that the north end of Niagara on the left?  I like the way you've included the original right-of-way.

I spent some time this morning lowering the ride height, and test fitting the trucks and body mounted Z scale couplers on this 3D printed D&RGW single sheathed boxcar.  When I started building my layout back in 2004, I had decided the standard would be to lower all my rolling stock to a more realistic looking height and add MT Z scale couplers to everything.  It's a bit of a chore, but I like the results.  Here is a photo of the new car on the layout while testing it with other rolling stock.

With all the snow that Wisconsin got this week, the Milwaukee Road was forced to get the rotary snow plow out for use on the west end of the system.  The photographer was able to catch a few shots as the extra train moved through Camp Douglas, WI.

This was from last weekened, but I had this Athearn 4600cuft hopper that's been waiting for awhile to get some weathering. I used mostly water mixable oils for the fade and rust and Vallejo acrylics on the trucks. To fit into my 2015ish time period I added yellow conspicuity stripes and some small graffiti for good measure. It was finished off with some Micro-Trains couplers. I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

This weekend I got the urge to get back to my GP60Is, based on the proposed order Conrail had but never happened. I've done one already using a modified SD70M cab, but this time around I thought it would be easier to draw it up in CAD. I based it on the Kato SD70MAC cab but did the detailing according to CR's SD60I cabs. I went ahead and did a "as delivered" version with marker lights incase I decide to do one one day with those. They we designed to be direct replacements for the FVM GP60M cab.

StewRRFan:  having seen the former ARMCO works here in NE Kentucky, I like the size of your steel mill.

Given that size, I wonder if anyone, now or in the past, has ever tried to disguise household plumbing as a similar industrial scene?  Many basements had, and probably still have, pipes on the walls, which can't very well be hidden, and blue paint doesn't hide them.

Nothing from me this weekend, except spending some money on TRW hawtness.  Off work this week so hoping to get some hobby time in finishing up some projects I'm working on.

bnsfdash8; Interesting I never knew Conrail was thinking of ordering some GP60s. Those would have been some interesting looking engines. I think years ago Micro Trains made some fantasy ones in Conrail colors.

Oh that's cool. Those GP60s were a fantastic Conrail "what if".

While you've got CAD fired up, there's also this: "LOCOMOTIVE SPECIFICATIONS BOOKLET: GE C60-8E AC ELECTRIC FREIGHT LOCOMOTIVE" https://crhscollection.omeka.net/items/show/9542
