Thanks guys! It's been fun...
Dennis, the previous pictures show a light overspray of grey primer over the brown plastic. I kind of liked it that way...

So the next set of bridges has single story bents set on stone foundations, per the drawing below (except all I need is the top section, with a mudsill on its bottom). Yes I know I could scratch built them, but there are many and I have too many other projects, so I'm looking at having them 3D printed.

The drawing has only partial dimensions. I'm guessing the upright posts are about 12"x12", the mud sill and top plate maybe a 12"x14", and the sway braces maybe 3 or 4 x 10"? Does that sound about right?

Thank you for any insights,
Otto

This should help.

There's a prototype for everything.
If you can't make it perfect, make it adjustable.
DCC is not plug-n-play.

Dang, Scott, THANK YOU! Very helpful.
Turns out my guesses were pretty good...

One more question please: what should the standard bent spacing be? 16'?
Thanks again,
Otto

Otto,

The bent spacing varied somewhat on the different bridges on the RGS and even on each bridge to fit the existing topography, but I would say 16' on center would give you a good "standard" for bent spacing.

We're looking at building some trestles. Does anyone make HOn3 bridge ties? Or bridge track?
Thanks, Otto

So you are doing HO for dimensions?

I just purchased a list of materials from Northeast Scale Lumber.  This is what I used to determine what I would need to build a coal trestle on my layout.

Hope this helps.

Thank you @dcarrell8 ! Confirms lumber sizes and general construction even if a bit different. Excellent info

Sorry Dave, the boss wants me to work on finishing the standard gauge areas first, so I've been working on standard gauge mountains instead of the narrow gauge ones :D
But, I do have the bents printed and they look good, see pics. @lemonsteam did a nice job on the design for me.
Can't wait to be able to work on those scenes...
Thanks for asking, Otto
