Not sure what no brainer HO to N models are to you, but I wouldn't complain if their SW1200RS, M420W, GP9RM and slug, RS-18/RS-18u, Canadian piggyback flats, Canadian bulkhead flat, B70 boxcar, Sodium chlorate covered hopper, and Angus Van made it to N. Quite the list! That said, the recent announcements will drill a deep enough hole in the wallet to keep me going for a while.
My insider says there are more N scale announcements being worked on, so don't give up hope yet.
I see at least three diesels and 10 freight cars plus several passenger cars that I think would sell strongly. While others lists may vary, I imagine that there would be a lot of overlap.
Ya, I've been disappointed by some of their stuff too. Namely the FP9's, sounding like a can opener when I first got them, and the LRC cars rolling ability. I also had an LRC car have a melt down, but I suspect it was my fault. A car derailed and was shorting the layout. I had the system set for a longer interval before it shuts off...blah blah blah...melted a hole in the roof of a car. I fixed the hole myself with some epoxy, and probably won't replace the board, I never run them with the interior lights on anyways. I didn't know they were melting down randomly. oh, the rollability..I puffed some graphite onto the bearings, make sure the wheels aren't rubbing on the inside frame. They were much better after that. I know, I know...they shouldn't need any work at the price we pay for their products, but those LRC cars are way nicer than any other ones I've seen in N scale. I suspect they are learning from their mistakes. Having a bunch of N scalers working there has to help? I suspect the FP40-something somethings..had the same problem as the FP9's, but they caught it and sent them back for reworking. Anyways, back to the subject. I usually watch their videos, even the HO ones, as I suspected this video was. I was happy to hear at the very end Jason say they were doing them in N scale too. I think I caught some on a commuter train here a year or 2 ago. It's usually LRC cars that I see.
I was going to get FP-9’s for my Canadian, but after the fiasco of the missing trailer MB Klein never got the multimark scheme I wanted and by the time I realized they weren’t going to list them the few other dealers were out of stock. Of course it is a risk I take not preordering, but I don’t preorder anymore because people can’t hold their delivery schedules.
