What's the diameter of a (then) standard fire hydrant flange?    If the flange is about 1 foot, then it looks like the sidewalk squares are about 6'x6'

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Hey Bob figure a standard car was about 6 foot wide so if you look up the block there is a car sitting on the right hands sidewalk with space on both sides. So figure at least 10 feet wide. I have walked down in those areas and I can tell you the sidewalks on most of those streets are wide enough to pull delivery trucks up onto without impeding traffic.

So, I found this photo and I love the style of the street lamp. Nothing in LED's that would be an exact match, but close to being to pass off. I have some samples inbound for a test.

These are not a match (and pricey), but I figured I would mention them.  You would have to just use the lamp fixture and scratchbuild the post and arm.

This is a 3-pack.

I'm also not sure about the "arc" light. That might be bluish where you probably want warm white.

I would put the pavement width at least 26' and therefore the sidewalks look to be 12'.

Agreed, I think the ROW building front to building front is likely 50', so 12/26/12 looks about right to me.

That puts the street width at 2 rods, which sounds weird, but in older east coast locations is a very common width for a road.

I did the design with the side streets being 2in wide or 26.667ft. Streets with trackage have 2in on either side of tracks. Sidewalks, at the moment, are designed at 1/2in or 6.5ft. Need to see what would happen if To building and track placement if I widen them.

Pete, those lamps took really interesting. Have to see what the budget is like or if I can vacuum form a shell that will do the trick with the SMD LED’s I just bought. So, how about the street lamp height? 20ft above the road surface look right to y’all?

Two rods would make the street 33' wide, no?

on further thought - in my old town in New Hampshire, the right -of-way is what was measured in rods, not the paved road itself.   So, if this right-of-way were 3 (not 2) rods, then a pair 12' sidewalks and 25.5' wide road fits just right..

272126 is warm white and 272226 is cool white. I found 1 of each 3-pack in the states under $20 and they have been purchased. Warm white to test and cool white to disassemble to cast the top and clear enclosure as reference for a vacuum plug.

Back working on the design at nights. Started working on the last module (#4). I have General Manufacturing as well as John's Roasted Pork. I wanted to add a special visual effect so I will be adding a coal distributer served via one of my single track Pin Connected bridges. Overkill? Yes, but mega kewl! Does anyone know what the max grade for a BMann 2-6-0 would be pushing three 2-bay hoppers ??

Before anyone thinks this isn't going to happen, modules are appearing. Here are module 1-3 in various stages of completion.

Module #1 still needs the center supports before leg braces, paint, deck and foam.

Module #2 is the farthest along and only needs the 1/8in top cork and attachment of the heavy duty casters.

Module #3 is ready for the foam. I had to laminate two 3/4in blanks together. The two outer holes of the five are for 3/4in dowel alignment pins.

My thoughts exactly!  How high are those?  You plan to run trains sitting on an office chair with wheels?  :D
