https://www.intermountain-railway.com/newsncomingsoon.htmlI hate to say it but I am not surprised. Oh well, my wallet is a few hundred dollars safer.
I think this is more a sign people do not trust Intermountain enough to do a pre-order than it is a lack of interest in the GP 10. I'm still waiting on the Trinity 3230's that I pre-ordered 7 years ago, they've yet to get to the production phase.

The status for the FT's and F3's have been "Confirmed For Production" for a looooong time. I would love to get the B&O FT sets.
That's an interesting comment on IM, and it's a comment that has merit, I think. And I'm someone who's never been tempted to pre-order anything from IM. Bluford Shops, yes; IM, nope.
My wallet is always safe if it says "Intermountain."I've had enough with these folks. %uD83D%uDE02
Disappointing.I'm still waiting for the second run of the SD45-2, which was announced about 12 years ago (it's so long ago that I can't remember). I cancelled my per-order a couple of years after the announcement and won't commit to an Intermountain pre-order again.Interestingly, I am sure that that the 45-2 had specific delivery dates earlier this year, but it seems to have slipped back to 'Confirmed for Production' again. Whatever. I won't hold my breath to see it this side of 2030.Gotta deliver if you want the business guys. It's that simple.Doug
I'm not sure this is news, other than maybe they never officially cancelled it.I blame myself. I never pre-ordered, but did see IM at several train shows and assured them I would be in for at least 3, in all their ugliest versions of the IC and even an Iowa Interstate, so several could tool around my layout. I guess they didn't take me at my word, LOL.Along with other recent discussions, I think it means that the market for ugly ducklings and regionally specific low proto count locos is still not mature, at least in N. We tend to think they will sell out of everything they make, but obviously, these kind of projects have a stronger possibility of NOT panning out for them. The shame is IM was always the most open about actual sales numbers, i.e., over 250,000 covered hoppers sold in both HO and N, 8,000 of their N scale 50 flat cars, and a few others I have on a sheet of paper on some old storage device. I think they said they needed 300 orders for any road name to move ahead with production, and obviously, they didn't get that.
I really wish IM would either sell out to someone who has the working capital to tool up the occasional "flyer" like a GP10 or at least stop announcing items just to
